The installation of Avast Free Antivirus is fast, a reboot is required. The program gets updated automatically just after installation and every day after that without slowing down your computer. After installation, when running a boot scan, I found it waits for user input when something suspicious was found. That user input should be applied only for infected system files or other files that could affect the system functionality.

Avast Free Antivirus has a clean interface very simple to use for beginners. It also includes advanced options that can be easily configured by power users. You can easily pause, stop or start any of the components included.

Avast Free Antivirus is a comprehensive protection solution for home users against viruses and spyware.
You get the basic protection module along with the scanning technology.
Also available is the mail protection, ensuring you can send and receive emails safely through your client or the mail services.
While you are chatting with your friends or other people, the protection prevents you from getting suspicious files that may contain threats.
It was able to detect and stop the malware applications trying to enter in the computer even before they access the computer.
