Editor’s Review of PhotoShine 4.15

PhotoShine is a photo collage maker, meaning it will allow you to add a photo in a particular template, and given there are over 700 templates available you have plenty to choose from. The program is shareware thus in the paid for version you only have 237 templates available, and you are able to use the program only 30 times.

The program is very easy to use, and even if the interface seems a bit outdated you are still able to do a photo collage rather fast. You select the photo(s) you want to include in the collage, center it (easy to do so) and even load multiple photos (many of the templates support that). The templates are divided in several categories (9 of them), such as Girl, Baby, Love, Board, Dream, Magazine, Cloth and Frame. I can see that one of the main uses for this program would be for weddings, baby showers and other formal celebrations as these ones. There are some templates that add your photo in a newspaper, magazine, a painting or old scroll, so this would be a fun tool for people that are really into these types of artworks.

In order to create your photo collage using PhotoShine, these are the needed steps:

• Open the program and load your photo (there’s a quick access toolbar with the main actions in it).


• Select a theme for your collage out of the 9 possible ones


• Choose the template to use (each theme/category has several themes) by clicking on the thumbnail of the template.


• Adjust the photo (you can center/rotate/gray out the photo easily by clicking the photo and using the in-window tools).


• Add multiple photos – if the template supports it, you will see the spots where photos are needed, just double click on those and you’ll be able to browse for more photos


• That’s it, save your photo and you’re done, you’ve created your fist collage

I’m not the type that really like these types of creations, but for those that want to create photo collages (I would think girls appreciate these) this is a good tool. You can download and test it to decide if this is worth $40, the fee that is needed in order to register PhotoShine.
