Read moreMatka is a type of lottery gambling that originated in Mumbai and is very popular in India. Actually in India, the word itself, Matka, is used as a synonym for "gambling". The game was started by Ratan Khatri and as the story goes it made him rich. The Matka game is also known under the name Satta, practically being a system to gamble on numbers (i.e. Matka numbers). The idea is that you bet money on numbers (2 or 3 digit) and the highest win receives almost eighty times the sum that was placed in (but there are of course smaller wins too). The Matka game numbers are decided by pulling 3 cards, the first being pulled at 9 am, and the last at midnight, and based on those pulled cards the winning numbers are decided. The Matka lottery game is now run in Mumbai (where this betting game started) by bookies, mainly in the Kalyan and Mulund areas, and being associated with these small-time bookies there have been criminal reports thus Matka is not as safe as it was when first started. The Matka lottery game is very popular since there are at least 400 matka bookies in the city and over 1000 across the entire state. There aren't currently any public systems for guessing the Matka numbers, but there are people that say they use advanced algorithms for guessing these numbers (unfortunately they haven't created any Matka Lottery Number generators yet).
