Yuotube (along with yuo tube, yotuube or youtubd) is a typo for the most popular video sharing website, Youtube. Google is smart enough to automatically detect a misspelling after you search for it, and either offer the correct search term at the top, or directly showing the correct results. Given the popularity of the search term Yuotube, Google shows directly the correct results not even bothering to let you know that you’ve entered a typo. There wouldn’t have been that many typos if the name was simpler (i.e. Yotube, in a way the same meaning but without the extra troubling “u”).

Here are some tips on how you can reduce the frequency of these Yuotube related typos:

• Bookmark the original Youtube website. Not only this will help you avoid typing the misspelled word again, but it’s much more convenient since you don’t have to search, click and visit, you simply click on the bookmark and you’re done.
• Use solutions such as OpenDNS (basic version is free), WOT or Siteadvisor, all giving you more protection from phishing attempts (or landing on other websites than the intended ones)
• The final and most difficult to follow one, PAY ATTENTION when typing. It’s Youtube not Yuotube or Yotuube.
